wow time flies by so fast im only two and a half changes until the year mark.... but any who here is how the week went!
Lunes:
We started by teaching at the soto household, which is a mixture of
less active members, and non members and talked to a girl that is 15
dating a 20 year old less active member and they have been dating for 5
years... crazy ehhh.. it actually went really well, i just dont know if
the 15 yearold could get marrried or would want too.. but we will hope
for the best, after we went down and helped matías and lorena and ilsa
move houses two streets aways andwhile we were bringing the last things
over it started to pour.. that was fun.. after that we taught a little
bit and the rain passed over and we made it home. The adventures of Elder Jace Aaron Gummersall serving an LDS mission in Asunción, Paraguay

time flies
3-24-14
Martes: Rained a ton this morning and couldnt even make it to
district meeting dry. But we got there and had a good meeting where i
taught about diligence.. something we all need always in every part of
life. it went well. Afterwords we started a division and i headed out
with elder singer. He is just about to finish up his training and is
awesome. we went to lunch... still pouring a ton of rain, left lunch
still pouring rain.. but by the time we left to teach after studying it
was a little clearer. So that was awesome. Then we went to Lorenas
house again and they are doing really good except there house kinda
flooded today.. by the time we got there it was all dries out but that
would definately be a tough life. After words we contacted a family in
front that could be someone we start teaching more, and then we went and
the same family wee have ndh with and they pretended to be
investigators like we did with elder turley at the beginging of the
change.. it was good and it really is a great way to get new elders
practice. It was good and afterwords we had some bread and meat cream
cheese like spread it was good.
Meircoles: We switched back and then did some studying and
headed out. We went and met with this less active guy from a family and
he has been opening up more and more to us which is awesome and then he
told us the house next door that they are watching has a demon in it..
and he kind of challenged us to try and cast it out.. so we will see
what happens with that we told him we would think about it.. i just dont
know if thats the smartest thing to do.... or if there really is one
there but we will see what happens. after we were walking over to our
progressing family and got caught in the rain.. a family let us in and
we were able to get a good teaching opportunity out of it. There was a
grandpa there who was turning 92 so that was cool. After we met with our
family who is trying more and more to learn english but they say each
time that it is really hard for them. We are really hoping things start
getting a little easier soon but its not ever that easy to learn a
language haha. after we tried to meet with one more family but they
didnt end up being home so we headed back to the house.
Jueves: Well we went on a division with the elders right by us
from Y´Bera. I went to the other area with elder Mundo. It was really
good he is about to finish his mission he heads home in june but is a
great guy. We visited all there less active people and had some really
good lessons but the overall topic of the day was talking about
marriage.. he said that thats one of the only things on his mind and he
isnt sure what he is going to do about it when he gets back.. so that
was a fun day haha. we ended that division the same night and then elder
turley ordered pizza... hes awesome :) haha. Its sio nice to be in the
city now haha.
Viernes: started the day off with weekly planning which went
good. and after that we went contact exploring for all the referencias
we have recived in an area.. and almost came up with nobody but found
one of the families and they said they would come back to church this
sunday. afterwords we went and i had to interview some baptism canidates
for the hermans which went well they want me and elder turely to
baptize them so that should be fun. (no one else in the ward could
attend, and there was a long story behind it.) afterwords we went back,
taught a couple more lessosn the highlight being ariels family. a return
missionary after 4 months who came home becuase he didnt like his comp,
but wants to baptize his whole family. I gave his mom a blessing of
health which was good and then we shared a little bit with her. At the
end we taught her how to pray and she cried during her pray. It was so
awesome the spirit was super strong. Amazing how much your life can
change and how much love you can feel from our heavenly father if you
just talk to him.
Sabado: Crazy day!! we studied and then left to go help an
hermana make empanadas for a reilf society activity, that was cool.
then we made ourselves lunch which was good, finished our studying, and
headed out to teach three or four people but no one was home.. we got
one lesson in with a less active family and then another one where we
found an active girl home with non member family. We got to try mate
dulce which is sooooooooo good... ill be drinking it in rexburg all the
time, and then we headed out to the baptism of the hermanas. WE got there
and the one i was supposed to baptize.. (her second try being baptized
in two weeks) was super nervous she is afraid of water and men so as you
can imagine a baptism is the perfect combination of scary for her.
Elder Turley went first and nailed it.. but while he was baptizing the
sister that i was supposed to baptize started crying, ran into the
bathroom, and changed her clothes into street clothes, and ran out of
the chapel... it was because of one of the guy memebrs there that
freaked her out right before the baptism which was tough... but after
the hermansas talked to her she said she would get baptized next
week.... hopefully. I felt sooooo bad for her. Then we made it back home
and taught ariels sister... she is super cool to and he really wants
his whole family to be members. It got pretty cold tonight and we made
our way home after.
Domingo: Today was a great day! we had 75 people at church 9
less actives, and 3 investigators so things are growing out here in
laurelty! during sacrament meeting i had to confirm both matías and
ilsa, which was good but hard to do back to back like that. after we had
a good lunch with hte family fernandez, and then got some studying in.
Then we went and taught a kid who is about to turn 8 that is from the
soto family. he and his grandma are active and he want to get baptized
really bad so we are gonna help him prepare himself really good. after
we vistied lorena and the famliy and watched the joseph smith video with
them.. it was super awesome! we also saw a little kid pull down his
pants and poop in his front yard. we got home and cleaned the house and
then called ita night.
Lunes: today i went and boutgh some sick leather shoes that
ill send a picture of next week, they are supposed to last a life time..
i also got an official paraguay jersey. THen i met up with elder
bristol and we ate lunch and headed to the cyber.. later we are headed
to the soccer museum after so that should be cool... othe rthan that
that was the week.
Lots of blessings coming our way out here in laruelty. things are looking really good....
Love you guys a ton!
