Week With the Kiosko

8/25/14

well this week was a fun one.. we were the first companionship to use the new kiosks the mission got.. a stand the has a question on it and the web page of mormon.org it was pretty cool, just another tool to contact people. Ill get pictures for next week.

Lunes: Well we went out to teach and no one was home, but that didnt stop us from getting lessons. We went and visited nicole and then swung by the famila borja and were able to call it a night. Went back home super stuffed from the brazilian buffet

Martes: Today we had district meeting, showed everyone the new kiosk that the zone will have until the end of september so thatll be cool. After that we headed back home and went and visited Lucy who had some big time doubts about the church but we helped her clear those up. After that we kept things rolling by going and visiting Zoriada a les active member that hasnt gone to church in like 3 years, shes an intresting character but will be a good family to reactivate. Then we went and visited Matías which went super well, and then we found another lesson and called it a day.

Miercoles: Well today was the first day with thte kiosko, we went and took it and put it in a busy spot and contacted AFULL!! that was good and an intresting expiernces, cool to ask people questions like how can they find peace and happiness in this life, or what there purpose is on the earth. Crazy to realize how many people really want to know the answer to the questions, hopeing to see some col reults from it. After that we went to another district meeting becuase the other district leader went to the temple yesterday. It was good, after i stayed there and did a division with elder molina who will be going home at the next change with my dad!! crazy we had a really good day. And ended the night by eating empanadas with a less active family it was cool. 

Jueves: Well today we ended the division, the we had clean the house vilma the mission cleaning lady, that was an expiernce, it was good though the house wasnt too dirty, but it was fun. After we ate some lunch and got to work. We went and had a super good lesson with karmen a cool investigtor. Then we went and found 2 col news. after that we went and used the kiosk and then we went and visited mario who is preparing to go through the temple soon. then we went and had a cool noche de hogar and then called it a night.

Viernes: Today we used the Kiosko in the moring and it was super good. then we studied had lunch and then got to work by doing service for for fabiola the home owner, it was good. After that we went and visited the familia cristaldo, and then went to joel and met his dad that was super cool, after that we swung by Zoriada and then we went to jose and his fam. After we swung by eva, and we put togehter a super good day and ended it by eating pizza and o mitos it was pretty good!

Sabado: Today was a super good day we went and taught alexandra and then went and found some super cool news that are fmailia memebrs of a less acive we had a really good lesson there, then we went and had a really good lunch. Then we went and picked some guayavas and after that we went to karmen who got super sick so wont be going to church after we went to the familia soto and then we went to visit patricia. Then we went to stake conference it was god, our bishop spoke and it was very rescue focused, it was really good. Then we got back and visited the silvero family and then we called it a day, got super hot today but it was still a good one. 

Domingo: We had a telecast stake confrence from salt lake today it was sooooooooooooooooo god, elder bednar talked about repentance and the rest talked about recue, it was a really conference, after that we got home, studied ate lunch and ten got to work. We found a cool new named ana, and then we visited zoriada, followed by mario and then by matias got really hot today, but it was pretty windy as well, then after that we called it a day went home and rendired.

Lunes: Played basketball for workouts, that was fun, after that we went and studieed and then we weortked in the morning. We went and visited José family then we went and shared with alba and then headed out to go visit remansitop!!!! im on my way there know and am excited to tell them hi! 

well thats all the time i got but see ya next week.. btw ill be in a trio this week with elder rivera.. should be intresting.

Lockout Sleepover

8/18/14

how you guys doing.. dont got a bunch of time but here goes the week.

Lunes: We wwent and ate chinese food at a mall (we had to get speacial permission from president to go there) and then went bowling inside it.. it was super awesome! and super fun, we invited the assistents as well and it was a good time after we got to work found these two cool kids named Julio and fernando, and can hopefully share with there families soon. after we went and visited Alba and then swung up to José and talked to his family, overall a pretty great day with a really sucsessful zone activity.

Martes: Started the day with Distrcit meeting it went really well, after which we had lunch. Then we went and started visiting people we visited this cool lady named Carmen who could be a really cool investigator. Afterwords we went and swung by Alexandra who is making a comeback to church, after that we went to Matías and Lorena and that went real good, followed by goin to alba she is super ready for baptism. Then we went and had a good NDH with the prieto family and richard.

Miércoles: Today i stayed in my area with elder Medina a Peruviano and we had a real good day. We went and visited ALba helped her stay real strong. Followed by going to Lunch with the hermana yurt. After we went to Carolina, who seemed pretty cool but took forever to leave from the house. After that we shared a little bit with Andreas mom only to find out that she was baptized in the church a long time ago... it was weird. Then we went and visited and met jorge he was pretty cool, andafterwords we went talked to the rest of rosolino and his family, a new we found last friday. Then we went and talked to Eva who is doinf well, and then we shared with Karina. Overall a pretty good day, it did get pretty dang cold tonight though.

Jueves: ENded the division studied and then went to the familia lopez house to make chippa it was good, and i officially know how to make chipa casero but the stuff they sell in the streets is better... oh well could be a pretty fun family night some time. After that we ate lunch swung by the house and started a fast for the zone. it was good. We went and visited A less active from a long time ago and then we went and talked to adrianan and sandra. Afterwords we went to the faily Cristaldo had a good lesson followed up by visiting alba again before her interview. Then we went and had a super sick lesson with Edith, who had a memebr friend over at her house and helped us in the lesson a lot, and it ended up being a pretty solid day.

Viernes: Today i went on a division to y´bera with elder Galdamez from el salvador. He is a pretty cool guy with a great backstory.he is a convert and hasnt had the easiest life but he is pretty cool. He hs three weeks in the mission so it was cool to get to train him for one morning. And after that we headed out to lunch only to find out that the hermana had left with out letting us know. so we swent and bought some and then got to work. We put together a really good day, we visited alot of people a really cool evangelical lady being one of them and we got 7/7 it was a real good division, but we sure did end it real tired.

Sabado: Today we played basketball for morning workouts wile the baptismal font drained. it was fun, after which we cleaned the font for the baptism and then eft and went and studied and did weeklyplanning. after that we went around to a bunch of people who said that they would be home, and then had to go meet new people, we did met this super cool couple who live close to the church they ust travel a bunch of weekend, but they were super cool. Then we went and taught the fmailia cristaldo who has 2 sons that havent been baptized with ages of 19 and 21. they are super cool. After that we went and shared with Liz and ehr friend and then we went and had a super good baptism. After that we tried to go get a couple more lessons, but no one was home, so we went and tried this pizza place in our area and it was super delicuos... better than pizza hut down here. Also, Elder Ellefson lost his house keys, so him and elder Anton came over to our house to stay the night because they had hno wayin.. it was fun.

Domingo: TOday was good we had 73 people at church 8 less actives and 0 investigators.. we are working on that. Elder Goss gave a good talk at church on sunday, then we went home and studied, followed by lunch, and then some visits. We went and taled to armando who is super cool and it looks like he should be coming to church this sunday. And then we ran into juan and eva.. and we were able to teach them a little too, juan ios super catholic and isnt too big of a fan of the elders, his daughter has been going to church with her mom for a year now and he wont let her get baptized, we are working with him, he invited us to his house later to eat some asado. we accepted. After we went and gave a blessing to a lady in the ward and then visited the family florentine, they are doing good but have had a bunch of family problems the last couple sundays, but we were able to offer a little bit of advice. After that we went and enjoyed a great asado with juan and eva and had a god time trying to be more friends with him.

Lunes: today we started by going to the office and playing basketball with the assistents and elder hall, his comp and elder springer and elder wolfgram. It was super fn, bt super hotand i burned my kin a little bit.. oh well, i need the color hahah. after that we had to drop a nevicaly off at the terminal to head home, and then we went to shan gru la, but it was in contrutcion, so we went to this even more chu chi brazilian bbq place and it was soooooo gooood im super bloated now, but it was good after that we made our way home and im writting you now.

Under the Sea

8/11/14

Well this week was a pretty cool one, heres what we did...

Lunes: had a NDH with the familia soto again, we are trying to help them establish that a little more consistantly. That went well, after that we went to Hortensia who is still progressing but her daughter has cicken pox so they cant go to church until she is better. But we had a pretty good night.

Martes: WE went to District Meeting that went well, it was a good first one for the Zone we had everyone introduce themeselevs and then i went with elder Craig to his meeting and it went really well. After that we went to Lunch and then we made our way to the Hospital were Elder Goss Had to get his ear checked out, that was fun, after that we got back home and got to work, we were able to visit Alba who is progressing towards baptism for he next week, and then we went to the silvero Family who still hasnt gone to church once since ive been here, they want to but there is always an excuse, after that we went and had a really good noche de hogar with the prieto family and his brother, it went well and he realized that faith without works is dead, so thank you James 2:17 for the help there.

Miércoles: Today we started a division with elder Ellefson i went to his area with him. It went really good, we had a really good day and got some real good work in there. There was a pretty rico lunch and we got a lot of contacting in He wants to be the best leader he can so we talked about areas where both of us could do better to improve, it went well im excited for him to be a district leader this change. We did do alot of inviting to a Ward Night which actually ended up being really sucessful, we had some people there that we found that day that came ad watched the restauration with us and then we played a little bit of pingpong and called it a day. 

Jueves: We switched back, did some weekly planning and and then went to lunch with the familia Lopez after that we visited this super drunk dude, who was baptzed about a year ago, he said he would go to church this sunday and so we are really hoping he remembers atleast, after we talked to Alba for a second shared with her and preped her for her baptism. Then we went to A reference and found a pretty col household of people that have famliy memebrs that are memebrs, after that we went and shared with a less active family that looks like they will be on the return soon. Then we went and visited the familia soto who is progressing just really slowly, afterwords we went to claudio who is super cool and is super close to going to church and doing everything that he needs to so he can progress and really get to know for himself if evrything is true. Then we went and Swung by Mario Martinez, gifted him a copy of preach my gospel so he could study that more and help us do more visits. Ended the day beat and feeling real good. 

Viernes: Today we went on a division with Eler Craig he came with me to my area. It went really really well, i like elder craig a lot, in two words i would describe him as the humble giant. He really is just a super nice kind and great guy. We put together a pretty good day and started by finding this cool grandma as a new before lunch, then we ate fish soup and then we got to work out to work we visited a less active with her somewhat cuñada, then we went and found this super cool guy and talked to him about the importance of family that was cool, after that we went to Serafina who is trying to bring the other wards less actives, to our ward. Not sure how i feel about it. Then we went and Talked to Karolina a less active who said wshe would go this sunday for sure and ten we went and Shared with Karina who is doing good we helped her realize theimportance of always reading the book of mormon to always be guided by god. It was really good. after that we went to the church and had athe baptismal interview for elías, his two brothers were baptized by the bishop and we were all set for the service tomorrow.

Sabado: Started today by cleaning the baptismal font. And then ending the division, afterwords we did some studies and went and bought lunch so we didnt have to cook. Then we went and shared with alba and with Hortensia, and then head on over to the baptism/birthday party. It was super full of people, the service went super well, good and memorable, and the party after was ridicuoulsy huge... it was cool though. there was a super huge cool cake and there was a ton of hot dogs so that was nice to eat as well.  afterwrods we went and talked to josés family and then we went and talked to edith and old investigator and then after that we went back and cleaned up/locked up the chapel. It was pretty great day!

Domingo: Today started early dy opening the chapel so a guy could come and remove the tables from the party last night, then we went and tried to get the drunk guy from wednesday to come to church with us but he wasnt home, so we went to karolina who was home but wasnt ready and had just woken up when we got there, so we went to church empty handed. We had 74 people, with 5 less actives and 0 investigadores. So that stunk but it was a good day in the chapel, elder Goss had to do the confirmation of one of the kids and i almost had to give a talk but last second didnt. after that we did some studies and then went to lunch. After we went to Eva and liz, then we visited Alba who didnt go to church becaus her boss was sick, but she will still be getting baptized this weekend, then we went to Sara this 95 year old memebr we found who cant walk so maybe we can get her kids involved to help her get back to church. After that we were doing some contacting and found this super awesome famil, talked and shared with the parents Jorge and Raquel, and it was super sick he even gifted us guarani books at the end so that was cool. Ended our day with that one and then eaded home, we ended the week with a perfect 7/7. That was cool aswell. 

Lunes: Well got a haircut today, and then headed to the cyber to write you guys.. we are going bowling as a zone activity today so that should be fun, i may have tim eto get on for a second later but love you guys all aton!! hope you have a great week!!

A Good Week

8/4/14 

Well this week was one full of changes but it sure was a good one. Heres how it went...

Lunes: We went ad got the last goodbyes in in San Lorenzo for elder Phippen and then headed back to our area, After that we had two NDH one with the famliia soto and the other with the familia Borjas, The familia borjas actually has three kids that will be getting baptized this next saturday so that should be really exciting, then we called it a day.

Martes: Today started with playin ping pong in the morning while doing workouts... thanks so much for that package momma! hahah and then w did some studies and even got a visit in before district meeting with richard, it was good, after that we went to distrcict meeting where we got Zone sweatshirts and said our goodbyes to those that were leaving. After that we had a big lunch to celebrate dia de la amistad, and thn let the saying goodbye begin. We went to Alba and to Hortensia and to the familia yurt, to Lucy, To the familia Gill, tto Eva and to the Familia Lopez and then we called it a night, went home cleaned the house while elder phippened packed up and then we went to bed.

Miercoles: Woke up bright and early to leave to asuncion to go get my new comp and leave elder Phippen to head back to the states.... weird. no lo puedo imaginar but met up with Elder Goss! who canme with me to the mission, might i remind you, and then we made our way back home, we got to lunch and let the day begin. We visited Alba and then met this cool dude named jose, after we went and had a good lesson with a kid and his mom she wants him to change its a cool family. Then we went and visited the soto family and went and talked to the Familia Florentine it went well, after that we called it a night.

Jueves: Today went well we started it off by tlaking to alejandra, who seems to be getting stronger, and making a good comeback to church. after that we went to the famliia Lopez house for lunch and they made some gross juice for Elder Goss and elder Fuacetts new comp they are quite the tricksters. Then we found two cool news ido and alfredo, after which we went and visited Serafina, whos doing well. Then we went and met a new Less Active who wants to return to church, she was cool, after that we went and shared with Eva. We did spend a good portion of today contacting, which went well. But that was our day, kinda a hot one.

Viernes: Today we had weekly planning and then headed out to Lunch, that went well and then after that we got to Work, Today was pretty hot, or at least the hottsts its been in a while. we went ad visited Alba, and then went and had a good lesson and found some good news at the house of the familia Cristaldo, a family that hasnt gone to chruch in about 3 years. they seemed super cool, after that we visited with Hortensia and had some brownies that Elder Phiipen made for Marianas birthday, they were super delicous. after that we went and had a pretty good lesson wityh Claudio a guy who could be a wedding baptism here pretty soon if he goes to church.  After that we found a cool new that lives close to the house named María and then we called it a day.

Sabado: Went and visited the Famliia Lopez and read the BOM with them, it went super well, and Carlos said that he would be going to church this sunday so that was super cool. After that we went and read the BOM with Alexandra. there is nothing better than reading the Book of Mormon.... enserio! after that we made our own taco type of lunch and then we went and started a fast with Eva for her family. That went good, after that we went and visited the Borjas Family, and then we went and talked to Alba, Soto, and found a sweet new from a while ago Juan Espinola, Today wasa super busy one, but we are feelig super good about church attendance tomorrow. Hopefully everyone that wsays they would will go.

Domingo: Well today we went to church and had 70 people there with 5 less actives and 3 Investigators, it went good, it was a pretty good testimony meeting and you could really feel the spirit. After that we went home and had lunch delivered to us and then headed out to teach. We trid to swing by a bunch of peoples houses but they were already busy. We were able to share with Matías and Lorena, followed by Julio Cesar a cool new we found as well, afterwhich we we had good lessons with Lucy and Leslie and then were able to call it a sunday, we talked to the new district leaders we have and then preped ourselves for Concilio de Zona for tomorrow.

Lunes: Well we left the house at 5:30, got to asuncion at 7:15 and then were in a meeting all day for Zone leaders until 2:15it went forever so after that we ate a quick lunch and then left, and now im here inthe cyber..

Thats my week in a glance, things are lookng like they are going to go great with Elder Goss, and im really excited for whats ahead, crazy to think of how long ive ben in this area though.. its alright with me!
